“On this day last week, thousands of people from the town of Sligo and beyond came together to pay their respects to our dear friend, Tommie Gorman. It was a powerful testament to the impact Tommie had on so many lives, drawing such a large crowd that united in grief and remembrance. The sheer number of mourners could have been overwhelming, but the team at Sean Feehily Funeral Services managed everything with such grace and efficiency that it seemed almost effortless.
The extraordinary level of care and compassion provided to Tommies family was evident throughout the entire process. The family, already dealing with an immense loss, was relieved of the logistical burdens that such an event can bring. Instead, they were given the space to mourn, comforted by the knowledge that every detail was being handled with the utmost respect and sensitivity. Brendan, Susan, and Francie, in particular, stood out for their remarkable professionalism and empathy. Over the course of two days, they demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence, a reflection of the core values that clearly drives their business.
From the initial removal service to the funeral mass and burial, every aspect was conducted with a quiet dignity and deep respect for the occasion. The ceremonies were understated yet profoundly moving, capturing the essence of Tommies spirit and the love the community has for him. It was a powerful reminder of the strength and cohesion of the community in Sligo, which came together in this time of great sorrow to support one another.
In moments of loss, we often find ourselves unprepared and in need of guidance. The Sean Feehily Funeral Services team provided that guidance with a comforting presence, helping us all to navigate through our personal grief. Their ability to manage such a significant event while maintaining a high standard of care speaks volumes about their dedication and the quality of their service.
Reflecting on the experience, its clear that while none of us wish to face the prospect of requiring funeral services, knowing that there are compassionate professionals ready to assist makes an enormous difference. The events of last week were not just about saying goodbye to Tommie; they were also a celebration of a life well-lived and a community that honours and cherishes one of its own.
Delivering his late sister Paulas funeral eulogy Tommie himself remarked Carlsberg doesnt do funerals, but if they did This sentiment perfectly captures the excellence we witnessed last week. The team at Sean Feehily Funeral Services delivered a service that was nothing short of outstanding, embodying the spirit of a community coming together to support one another in times of need. A great son of Sligo was brought home and laid to rest in the arms of the people he loved, and those who loved him dearly, with eternal thanks to Sean, Susan, Brendan and Francie. “I had the sad occasion to attend two funerals in quick succession over the past few days. The first included attending at Feehilys Funeral Home and the following day attending the funeral at the church and cemetery. Both occasions highlighted the consistent high standards that Feehilys employed to ensure all aspects were managed professionally. The second occasion today gave me the opportunity to view up close how important it is for the deceased families to be treated with caring and empathy. The Feehily team worked in close collaboration to ensure all elements of the funeral are effectively and sensitively managed - with no unnecessary intrusions or disruptions to how all the human aspects of how the family and mourners interacted. It was all done subtly, sensitively and without any friction.
Im so impressed with the Feehily Funeral service that I felt it was appropriate to volunteer this reference.”
