Dear Ken, Noelle, and Ray, My sincere and deep sympathies to you and the extended family on the sad passing of Marlyn. Your mum was an absolute lady. Kind, stylish, elegant, and always a smile on her face. The photo of her on RIP.ie is how I remember her. She was always so welcoming to me in 15 Cedar Drive, I am sure she often thought had I no home of my own to go to! So sorry I could not be there, but I watched the funeral on-line. It was a lovely ceremony; you all did her so proud. Ken and Ray, your words and reflection at the end were perfect. As I was listening, I was reminded of the great memories I have from years gone by: - I was taken back in time to your kitchen in Cedar Drive, where on numerous occasions I was lucky to sample her lovely baking the shortbread in particular (you are right Ken it was hard to beat), - All the trips in her red mini and I think there was a blue Vauxhall before the mini(if my memory is right). - Stylish Marlyn, I remember all the lovely new outfits hanging off the banister in the hall and the regular trips Noelle and I made to the dressmaker to leave-in or collect an item of clothing from her vast wardrobe that needed some sort of alteration. - Always wearing her wearing rubber gloves for washing the dishes. - As for the sun worshipping, I can never look at a pot of Astral cream without thinking of her and the fabulous tan she had from sunbathing out the back. - Toro and Twinkle, I was always afraid of dogs, but I was never scared of these two. They were good times and there is loads more which I have never forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time. Please God all the good memories you have of your mother will help give you comfort in the difficult days, months, and years ahead. May Marlyns gentle soul rest in peace. Take care, Angela (Noonan)
