March 12th 2026, peacefully at Sligo University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Ex Garda Síochána.
Dearly loved husband of Vera and father of Caroline (Armstrong), Raymond, Patrick and Moira (Tierney). He will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, brothers Willie, Martin and George, sons-in-law Eddie Armstrong, Gerry Tierney and Andrew Russell, daughter-in-law Margaret, cherished grandchildren David, Lauren, Keara, Ciarán, Padraig, Ronán, Chloe, Emma and Conor, greatgrandchildren Noah, Elliott and Fiadh, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
Rest in Peace.
Reposing at Seán Feehily’s Funeral Home, Cartron Cross, Sligo (F91EH98) on Sunday, March 15th from 5pm with removal at 7pm to Saint Joseph’s Church, Ballytivnan, Sligo. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, March 16th at 11am and will be livestreamed via https://www.churchtv.ie/stjosephschurch/ Burial will follow in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Scarden, Strandhill Road, Sligo. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to Cancer Research via www.feehilys.ie/pay Condolences may be left at www.feehilys.ie on RIP.ie or by traditional manner.

Sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to Vera, Caroline, Raymond, Patrick, Moira and all the extended family on your very sad loss. We hold treasured memories of Joe's great company at the many events and in all the times we shared together, wherever that may have been. We will especially miss his true friendship, his witty stories and his good company. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

My heartfelt condolences to Joe's beloved Vera, Caroline, Raymond, Patrick and Moira; brothers Willie, Martin and George, Extended family, relatives & friends at this very sad time. Very fond memories of Joe from mid '70s to more recent times. Always arm in arm with Vera. So pleasant, chatty and always smiling. He will be sorely missed by all who loved him.
